Exclusively sourced from the Mekong Delta, our Normal Terracotta Collection is crafted from a rare alum-rich clay renowned for its natural strength and warm, earthy hues. Fired sustainably with eco-friendly rice husk fuel, this collection reflects the timeless heritage of Vietnamese pottery unglazed, organic, and rich in character.
Material:
Starting with alum clay unique to the Mekong region, the clay is soaked, blended, and finely ground before being combined with sand to produce a plastic, durable material ideal for hand-forming.
Molding:
The clay is cut into 10–13 mm thick slabs and shaped using plaster molds. Each piece matures and air-dries under controlled conditions, preventing cracking and enhancing structural integrity.
Firing Process:
Pieces are fired in a traditional round tower kiln using renewable rice husk fuel, a sustainable method preserved through generations. The firing cycle lasts 10 to 12 continuous days at 700–900°C, followed by a 2-day natural cooling period. This slow, meticulous firing brings out the natural terracotta tones and ensures lasting durability.
Indoor & Outdoor Use: Ideal for planters, garden décor, and architectural accents
Raw & Unglazed Finish: Offers an authentic, natural aesthetic with warm earthy tones
Sustainable Craftsmanship: Fired with renewable rice husk fuel supporting eco-conscious production
Timeless Appeal: Complements rustic, Mediterranean, and minimalist design styles
